I started with this beautiful psilomelane cabachon & designed the pendant around it. My friend, Chris Whitley cut and polished it for me, even polishing the back side, which is why I cut out the back of the mount in a pattern that matches the stone. I was planning on making a V-shaped necklace & then got the idea to make an assymetrical necklace that mirrored the grain of the stone. I like a "convertible" piece that can be worn more than just one way….it adds value to the eventual customer!
