I bought this turquoise cabochon from my friend, Andy Brown, who dug it out of a family mine in Cerrillos, New Mexico and then cut & polished the stone. Turquoise has been mined in this area of the Southwest since about 900 AD by Native Peoples. I find it to be very fulfilling to use stone that has been appreciated by
other cultures for so many centuries.
